Creative Space Management’s collaboration with Newcastle University and Newcastle City Council’s Science City partnership led to development of the first buildings at Helix, a new ‘smart’ city centre mixed-use quarter.
In 2012, Creative Space Management defined a target market for the first building, The Core, aligning with the university’s research specialisms. Their branding and business planning attracted commitment to the 5,000sm landmark building, offering 72 flexible workspaces.
Opening in October 2014, The Core achieved 90% pre-letting and won the Best Commercial Workspace 2016 award. In 2019, Creative Space began operating a new neighbouring building, The Lumen, a 10,500sm office development for larger occupiers, introducing innovative tenant engagement projects to complement Helix’s research specialisms.
These developments marked successful strides in fostering a vibrant and research-focused urban environment. Over £350m of development has been attracted to the site since The Core first opened.
