Toffee Factory, Newcastle

Opened in December 2011, Toffee Factory began development in 2009 when Creative Space Management was appointed to undertake a preliminary feasibility study. The company undertook further detailed business planning, marketing and systems development, finally being appointed to operate and manage the building from December 2011. Within 12 months the building reached 100% occupancy. Using local networks and an understated marketing campaign, the building has been widely acknowledged as huge success and has triggered further development in the lower Ouseburn Valley including the recent announcement about the HCA/Newcastle City Council site immediately opposite Toffee Factory. Creative Space recruited and employed the team and have steered the governance of the project working with their characteristic transparency and open working methodology, throughout the winding down of 1NG and the transition into local authority asset ownership.
