Luminous Group
Luminous group, a collaboration of three sister companies – Digital Surveys, Digital VR and Digital Architecture, came to Toffee Factory in December 2011. Moving in under the name eBIM Ltd they quickly evolved and expanded. In the years since the company has seen massive growth. Having more than tripled the original team in the North East, 2016 also saw them open a new London based office.
A pioneering 3D technology solutions provider, Luminous has 15 employees across their two offices. Experienced BIM manager Justine Gray heads up Newcastle operations. Luigi Russo arrived from Naples, Italy to manage the West end based office in London. He has a strong background in architecture, but more recently has specialised in games engine design and real time rendering.
“We’ve been operating three very distinctive strands to the business for quite some time. They will continue in their own rights, but the core specialities of Digital Surveys, Digital Architecture and Digital VR are now much better aligned under the Luminous Group brand.
We have a long history of early adoption of new technologies in the surveying sector and this is the next step in our evolution into a rounded 3D technology solutions provider across a wide range of industries.” – Ben Bennet, Digital Operations Director.
Digital Surveys was launched more than 25 years ago by Peter Bennett, as a forward-thinking supplier to the surveying industry. Through an ever-growing team of 3D and virtual reality experts, the operations has broadened its appeal across numerous sectors and has developed traditional VR gaming platforms to provide immersive solutions to organisations in industries such as tourism, motoring and even historical attractions. His sons, Ben and Henry have taken on roles as Digital and Operation Directors in the company.
“The space, facilities and team at the Toffee Factory have been excellent. They have been able to accommodate us as the company grows and offer a highly professional service and image which has paid dividends when we bring new clients in for the first time.”
“The opening of our London office is reflective of the level of work we’re servicing, not just in the south of England, but it also offers us the necessary global gateway to our international projects.” – Ben Bennet, Digital Operations Director.
