The development plan at Cardiff Bay

Porth Teigr, Cardiff Bay

Creative Space has been working with igloo and Welsh Assembly Government  since 2008 on the development of a 36 acre site at Cardiff Bay, representing the last part of the Bay that has not yet been developed. Porth Teigr in Cardiff Bay represents one of the most significant waterfront developments in the UK.

Creative Space has been assisting the stakeholders on the development of a new 4000sqm digital media centre; on a meanwhile use and place making strategy; on the marketing and promotion of the development and assisting with negotiations with potential commercial occupiers.

Most recently, Creative Space led and co-ordinated the initiative to brand the new development. Previously known as Roath Basin, the project has been successfully re-branded as Porth Teigr, reflecting both the history of the Cardiff Bay area and the importance of using the Welsh language as part of creating strong points of differentiation for the development.

With the BBC drama village currently under construction, the project is one of the largest new production facilities currently being constructed in Europe (15000sqm) and over the next 10 years the development will bring significant new investment and jobs to Cardiff.
