Electric Works opened in March 2009, drawing widespread national and international coverage and inspiring people to rethink how they create stimulating places to work.
Electric Works, dubbed the 'Helter Skelter Office' created media interest from around the globe and was featured on prime time slots on Sky News, CBS and Channel 5.
Open during working hours, the dramatic installation is available for anyone working in the building to use but there are, of course, lifts and stairs for those that do not want to descend via the steel and transparent tube.
The Electric Works Helter Skelter is designed to be a catalyst for creativity and to create a better and more exhilarating place for people to work. This can have direct business benefits in terms of creating a unique proposition for businesses whose clients will have a memorable experience when visiting their premises but also for workers in the building, for whom having a unique installation is a major pull. Given that attracting the best talent is a key objective for all successful businesses, Electric Works is a cosmopolitan and dynamic space that can add enormous value to the businesses that are based there.
Electric Works is just two minutes walk from the mainline train station and less than five minutes walk from the centre of one of the UK's largest and friendliest cities. It is a unique, contemporary office space for creative, digital and media businesses. It provides a friendly yet professional environment for fast growing companies (4-15 people), larger businesses (of up to 60 employees) as well as some of the best specified facilities in the UK for freelancers and sole traders. With state of the art IT and plug-and-play offices, the building provides a step-up for ambitious businesses who want to expand their horizons.
For more information about the Electric Works Helter Skelter, a publication published to celebrate the launch of Electric Works in March 2009 is available. Electric Works: The Helter Skelter Office provides three perspectives about the underlying philosophy and why this installation can help improve the competitive edge of those businesses using the building.
